Awful Night

Last night I was cleaning up the house to get ready for guest coming over for the weekend. At 10pm I started getting the first signs of a migraine. I couldn’t see anything in front of me. It wasn’t really like a blind spot that I normally get, but was more like after you look at a really bright light. I immediately went upstairs to try to go to sleep, which is the only way to get rid of the migraine for me. I fell asleep before the headache came, but woke up at about 11:30 and my head was pounding. I was writhing in pain for about an hour and a half before falling asleep again. At 4am I woke up and the headache was gone, although if I shook my head, it still hurt. Today I am very worn out…

The Incredibles

Have you seen the trailer for this Pixar movie? The Incredibles is scheduled to be out in November 2004 (too far off!). Although the trailer doesn’t reveal much about the plot, it kind of sets the tone. Looks like it’s going to be totally funny! The trailer is simple, but hilarious.

Up to 9 and Counting

Yesterday evening I was playing with Bay in my car, which was parked in my garage. He was in the driver’s seat playing with the levers and buttons, I was sitting in the passenger seat. In 10 minutes, I got 3 more mosquito bites. That brings the count to 9 this summer. Kayumi!

Two Towers Tonight

What a great picture. Even if Bilbo is not in The Two Towers to the best of my knowledge…

Anyways, tonight I am going to see Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers at the discount cinema near my house. This will be the second time I will see it. About this time last year I went with Mikey to see the first LOTR movie at discount cinema. Tonight I will go with Ryan, and Mikey might show up as well. Discount cinema is great. It shows movies that are about 3-6 months old for only $2.25 or so. I remember growing up is So. Cal. we used to go to the Marina theater which was something like $2.00 or $1.75 before they tore it down. Good times there… Anyways, I have to dust off my Frodo costume for the show tonight.

(just kidding about the costume)

Don’t Get Behind Me In Line

I have a great talent for picking the worst cashier line to get in while shopping. It doesn’t matter if the cashier I pick has no people waiting in line, is almost guaranteed that the other shoppers will check out before me.

Yesterday I was buying some groceries and all the lines had at least three people waiting except for one, which had a single person. Naturally I got in that line. This particular time I got a double-whammy with a bonus. The lady pulls out her checkbook to pay for her food, and doesn’t pre-fill out any of it until she gets the total. Sheesh. The second whammy was when the cash register had to be refilled with paper. Meanwhile the other lines were just cruising! The bonus was that my cashier was chatting non-stop to the baggers (there were three of them just standing around) and to make matters worse, they were blathering on about some stupid end-of-the-world theory.

These days I don’t really get too peeved at my bad fortune in line. I am just amazed at how fate can create new and original ways for me to waste my time in line.

More Cool Stuff

Mariko ordered a book for me from Amazon.co.jp. It was a total surprise! Even though I can’t read the Japanese (and Mariko refuses to translate it), there are plenty of interesting pictures to look at. I love it!
