BBQ in Elgin TX

Yesterday we went to Round Top TX for their huge antique “swap meet”. The weather was great, and we had a good time. On the way back, we decided to get some BBQ to take home for dinner. We stopped at the town of Elgin, which is famous for its sausage. The place we went to was Southside Market, which is a bbq restaurant and meat market. I ended up ordering the Family Pak at the restaurant, which was 1lb of beef brisket, 1 1/2lb of sausage, beans, potato salad, pickles and onions, and a whole loaf of bread. I also got a pound of pork ribs. Oh man… the brisket was so awesome! Probably the best I have ever had, not that I am a huge bbq afficionado, or anything, but it was amazing. The sausage was damn good too, and the beans were tasty. I’d definitely go back there again. It was kind of ironic that I was wearing my Tofu Festival t-shirt that day…

Damn Cold

Today a cold front moved into Central Texas, and I am freezing. It’s 57° out there, which isn’t that cold, but my shoulders and hands are frozen. I walked down the hall to the restroom and I saw a dude wearing a Hawaiian shirt, shorts and sandals. Freak. Ironically, the Beach Boys’ “The Warmth of the Sun” just started on my mp3 player. Just two days ago it was in the high 90’s.

Trace Memory

I have been playing this off and on for the past few days, and it is pretty enjoyable. I really love the feel of it, and reading the dialog and having a soundtrack behind is cool! It’s kind of like an animated graphic novel. I hope they make more games like this. It’s so neat to play it for fifteen minutes before falling asleep, but working on puzzles and getting things done. Not stressful at all, like some games are for me. I found that I don’t like mega management style games like the Sims. I played Urbz: Sims in the City for the DS for a while, and it was not fun watching the meters for hunger, entertainment, bathroom breaks, etc… I traded that in for Trace Memory which is much better. 🙂

C70 Update

I was going to change the rear tire on the C70 last night, when I noticed that it was in pretty good shape. The front was all cracked and worn, so I had replaced it, and had thought the rear would be the same. But, there is no cracking, and plenty of tread left. But, I noticed that it is the wrong size. When the previous owner changed the tire, he used the same size as the front, which is 2.25/70. The correct size is 2.50/70. Although it will run fine with this smaller tire, the top speed will be reduced slightly, while rate of acceleration is increased. I decided to just keep the smaller tire on the back for now, and when I have more room in the new house/garage I will replace it.
