TrekEarth Photos

I just became a member (free) of this great photo site called TrekEarth. You can upload your photos, and people can comment on the photos. The photos are from all parts of the globe, and most are really beautiful. I am planning on doing some new scans of slides and submit them to the site.

One other cool thing about the site is that you can keep a list of favorite photographers so you can check back later to see new photos. In addition to the critiques, there are workshops, travelogues, and discussion forums. Pretty cool.

Spam Hell

I get so much spam in my inbox at home. I have been adding email senders to my junk senders list like crazy so that the filter can put those in a separate folder. But my list has gotten so long that Outlook can’t get past that filter to run my other filters. So, I decided to delete my list of junk senders and start a new one. I was amazed to see how long my list was; it must have been about 500. It worked pretty well, until it just got too big. I’d estimate that 98% of the email that comes through my inbox these days is spam.

Yoda – $300.00

I was looking at a “forsale” messageboard and ran across this life-sized Yoda for sale. Gotta love the stylish beads he’s sporting. $300 seems like a bargain too. Hmmm… it is my brother’s birthday…

Nasty Weather Today

image
Usually it’s sunny and bright driving into work. This morning it was dark and grey. Everyone had their headlights on. When I arrived at work, the clouds were looking particularly evil, although the rain had not yet started. It is raining now, and lightning is hitting right outside my window.

A Mighty Wind

I went to see A Mighty Wind the other night. It was great! After being pretty disappointed with the Matrix Reloaded, it was nice to see a really good movie like this. It’s the same crew who did Best In Show and This Is Spinal Tap, so it was pretty much guaranteed to be funny. The story revolves around a reunion concert of three folk bands from the 60’s. I think the funniest character in the movie had to be Fred Willard’s talent agent. His “Wha’ppen?” lines were the best. I highly recommend this movie!
